Smart glasses are destroying
your right to privacy

You can be filmed without your knowledge or consent. The law hasn't caught up, the public was never asked, and tech companies shouldn't get to decide where society draws the line. Act now, before smart glasses become the new normal.

Closes 9 December 2026

The wider picture

Meta is trying to open the floodgates

Meta is the ringleader but the problem is much bigger than just them.

Cameras embedded in everyday items, such as glasses, should not be a normal part of everyday life. An urgent public debate is needed and, whilst we wait for this to happen, these devices must be immediately banned.

The price of innovation should not be your right to privacy. Tech companies don't get to decide where society draws the line. That's up to us.

Why we must act now

We allowed social media to race ahead of regulation. Now it is happening again

Children paid the price while parents, governments and institutions struggled to respond. Face-worn cameras bring new risks to privacy, safety and safeguarding, whilst the law is once again lagging behind.

We do not need another damaged generation to be the evidence. We must act now.
